Wildfire Emergency Management
“How can we manage wildfire emergencies?”
The increasingly dry and hot weather in Mediterranean climates brought about by global warming is causing wildfires to exponentially increase exponentially in intensity and size. To combat this, WIldfire Emergency Management, or response to thee events, needs to be revised and implemented across the board.
Why Fires are Growing at an Exponential Rate in the Brazilian Rain Forest?
“Why are there so many more fires in the Brazilian Amazon now and what are the consequences?”
One of the worst ecological disasters ever recorded is happening as we speak. Brazil has recorded an increase of wildfires by 80% compared to last year. Much of this increase is human-caused and concentrated in the Amazon, where the new government is trying to develop it for commercial purposes. This is incredibly dangerous, as the Amazon rain forest is one of the largest sinks for carbon dioxide but could become a carbon source if it becomes deforested and dries out. This is Why Fires are Growing at an Exponential Rate in the Brazilian Rain Forest.

“When do fires typically occur?”
Wildfires and resilience are hot topics right now in California. These usually occur during drier and hotter times of the year, when foliage conditions are more ripe for an outburst. That is why during Fire Season California needs to be much more prepared to take action.
Why Dry Foliage Is More Susceptible to Fires
“Why is dry foliage so ignitable?”
In the wake of the recent California fires, more and more focus is going into preventing more fires. One of the root causes of all of this is the fact that when foliage dries up, it loses moisture, which prevent fires. This is Why Dry Foliage Is More Susceptible to Fires.
Fire Risk Analysis
“How can we analyze fire risk?”
Property catching on fire can be very dangerous. Whether it be a single building or a transmission line, the damage can be an order of magnitude worse than expected. Because of this, many property owners use risk analysis methods to keep their investments safe. This Fire Risk Analysis can be accomplished through the amalgamation of a multitude of methods, such as analyzing historical dire data, on-site building inspections, and material analysis.
