“Why is climate adaptation so important for the youth?”

Today’s youth are going to live out the remainder of their lives in a climate-changed world. To make sure that we have as high-quality of life if not better than our ancestors, we need to make sure that society and infrastructure are properly adapted to all of these new changes. This is Why Climate Adaptation Is So Important for the Youth.

“Why can rent control help prevent climate displacement?”

As land that is naturally resilient to the effects of climate change becomes more and more scarce, demand for it will only go up. This will increase pricing, which could displace the original inhabitants from the land. However, if we enact rent control policies in these areas, then we can ensure that these residents do not have to leave against their own will. This mode of thought could have great use for areas that are already experiencing climate gentrification such as Little Haiti in Miami. This is Why Rent Control Can Help Prevent Climate Displacement.

“Why is storm prediction so critical for hurricane resilience?”

Hurricanes are some of the most disastrous disasters known to humanity. Their force holds the potential to rip apart homes from their foundations and destroy infrastructure for entire cities. To take preventative measures, we can use storm prediction technologies to see where it will strike and hard it will go. That way, we can be ready before anything truly perilous happens. This is Why Storm Prediction is So Critical for Hurricane Resilience.

“Why does porous land make flooding adaptation construction more difficult?”

Porous land can make construction difficult. Lacking a solid foundation, structures can easily slide into the ground and fall apart. Special accommodations may have to be made to deal with these units. This makes things worse for building flood adaption systems, where dykes and sea walls require good earth to stand on. This is Why Porous Land Makes Flooding Adaptation Construction More Difficult.

“How can A.I be used to create more efficient wind turbines?”

Most wind turbine blades are created by human sketching. Although many are adept at it,  it is always prone to errors that can throw off efficiency at any margin. However, with the advent of A.I capabilities, we will be able to have wind turbines be designed to the most optimal flow pattern possible, greatly increasing efficiency. The wind industry will be revolutionized by this technique which will allow us to go further in our fight against climate change. This is How A.I Can Be Used to Create More Efficient Wind Turbine Blades.

Why Climate Change Will Really Hurt Water Systems in Dry Areas That Are Dependent on Rainfall

Why Climate Change Will Really Hurt Water Systems in Dry Areas That Are Dependent on Rainfall

01/30/21

“Why will climate change really hurt water systems in dry areas that are dependent on rainfall?”

Climate change is going to cause more droughts to occur in areas that already have below global average rainfall. For water systems in areas that are dependent on rainfall, this is going to hurt them drastically. Soon, they will need to find out how to find new sources of water. This is Why Climate Change Will Really Hurt Water Systems in Dry Areas That Are Dependent on Rainfall.

“How can climate adaptation research competitions be used to expand the field?”

Climate adaptation research is often taken place on a segmented basis, with each group operating on its own. However, this can be partially solved through the use of Climate Adaptation Research Competitions. This allows teams to get together and see who has the best ideas on the subject. This can be facilitated in many different ways, ranging from having people organize around a single topic like sea-level rise in Rio de Janeiro to letting people design their own open-ended research projects and then evaluating them.

“How can we track national disasters?”

Climate change is going to accelerate the rate of disasters drastically. So much so, that internal tracking will be needed to make sure that situational awareness is achieved and that lessons can be learned. This is why National Disaster Tracking is so important.

“How could less harsh climate migration laws prevent genocides?”

Today marks International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Eighty years ago, 6 million Jews and 11 million Roma, Slavs, Afro-Europeans, Soviet civilians and prisoners of war, Disabled people, homosexual men, and political dissidents were massacred in what is now known as one of the greatest atrocities to ever occur. Much of this was caused by the fact that other nations such as the United States refused to take in refugees from these groups even as they knew that the genocide was going on.

In the future, climate refugee population is going to explode in the coming years. If no action is taken, then many of these communities may face certain death. By allowing them into other countries, we can avert this catastrophe from happening. This is Why Less Harsh Climate Migration Laws Can Prevent Genocides.
