All sorts of infrastructure are damaged after war. Since sanitation and water delivery are fundamental for life, repairing this infrastructure after the war is vital. Replaced pipes can be more durable and environmentally friendly than the ones they replaced. Financing this can be accomplished in a multitude of ways, ranging from international assistance, taxes on civilians and businesses, and appropriation of reparations.
