“Why might it be a good idea to separate bicycles from automobile traffic?”
Bicycle riders always face the possibility of being hit by a car when they share a lane with them. For this reason, urban planners have devised Separated Bikeways that allow for bicycle riders to ride in their own lane without cars. These hold the potential to save countless lives and make our cities a much better place to live.
