Pakistan is being inundated with floods that have covered over 1/3rd of its land. Much of this is due to exacerbation by climate change. However, Pakistan has contributed to only 1% of global carbon emissions despite having a little under a third of its population. It doesn’t take much mathematical analysis to realize that this is completely unfair. But Pakistan is only one of many instances of how disproportionate climate impacts will be on the Global South and why the Global North has to take an internal reckoning.
