“Why is flooding in Pakistan so devastating right now?”

If you are reading the news at the time of writing, you probably know about the devastating floods occurring in Pakistan right now. More than 1,100 people have lost their lives, more than one million homes have received heavy damage, and 33 million people have been affected in some way. But why is it happening this way? Well, Pakistan receives the majority of its rainfall during the Summer monsoon season. This has devastated the country which has only contributed 1% to global carbon emissions despite having 2.83% of the world’s population. This is Why Flooding in Pakistan is So Devastating Right Now.
