As the world sees with the (as of writing) ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, agricultural supply chain crises can happen at a moment’s notice. This leads to severe impacts in countries dependent on such global trade systems, and can even result in famine. To prepare for such events, municipalities can stockpile food. Food that has a long expiration date and doesn’t need much upkeep is recommended to be stockpiled. Such food supplied may have to be replenished on a regular basis to keep everything fresh.
