Intermunicipal Water Utilities Negotiations
07/03/24
“What happens when two municipal water utilities have to negotiate with each other?”
Municipal water utilities are water utilities owned by a municipality. This means that towns may have to find their own water resources. If two different water utilities come into conflict with each other, whether it be over a disagreement in jurisdictional area or aquifer ownership, they will need to enter Intermunicipal Water Utilities Negotiations. They can either solve this together or go to a higher legal authority such as a utilities commission.
