“How can we have design studios centered on community empowerment?”

Marginalized communities have to grapple with systematic injustices in their urban spaces. One way to approach this is to leverage design capabilities to transform the surrounding environment. While reaching out to traditional design studios can be expensive, Community Design Studios are non-profit centers dedicated to providing design knowledge to co-create solutions for marginalized communities. Community design studios hold the potential to be strong allies to the people they serve.
