Why Gall–Peters Projection Maps Visualize the Global South Better

“Why do Gall-Peters Projection Maps visualize the global south better?”
Standard Mercator projection maps undersize regions near the equator and oversize regions near the poles. This ends up privileging countries in the Global North by making them seem larger than in reality and countries in the Global South smaller. However, maps that use the Gall-Peters projection as their base preserve the area of projection, thereby displaying accurate sizes. This is Why Gall–Peters Projection Maps Visualize the Global South Better. By switching our maps to Gall-Peters projections, we can make visual representation of the word’s countries better.
